We often hear people mention "third-world" and "first-world" in relation to "power", especially on the news. Ignorance on these topics is glorified on the news and on television, and a lot of people do not know much about the countries they do not live in, and quite frankly, do not care. Whenever someone mentions the word "third-world", our minds jump right to Africa, and all of the stereotypes that surround children in this continent. And with this, we often pity people in third-world countries.

FIRST WORLD |
A First-World country is simply a country that is developed. Developed means that a stable economy (high GDP) is in effect, they are industrialized (most human labour has been replaced with machine assembly), and the somewhat-high most of the Human Development Index (this includes life expectancy, education, and income per person).

THIRD WORLD |
Third world countries are countries that are developing. They may not have as many natural resources, or maybe their life expectancy just isn’t that high. Whatever the reason, these countries are grouped in a lower class than first-world countries. But think about the other term for third-world countries. These countries are developing. No, not undeveloped, but developing. They are still figuring out how to make their country the best it can be, and they are constantly working on improving, just as we should be.
